One highlight of Waters’ show was Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig ripping through “The Great Gig in the Sky” from Pink Floyd’s album The Dark Side of the Moon. It was if the song were written for them. They not only hit all the big, bold notes, they also did this spontaneous vamp on the melody afterward. Somewhere in the distance, though, I imagine that late keyboardist Richard Wright and vocalist Clare Torry — the two who created the song — were also delighted by the singing they heard.
