After this week’s democratic primary, Christopher Marte leads his closest opponent by 4,300 votes in Manhattan’s 1st District. He’s vying to replace term-limited Margaret Chin who’s represented the area from Greenwich Village to the Battery since 2010.
Stephen Ross, the chairman and founder of Related Companies, controls about $60 billion in real estate, including Hudson Yards, the Time Warner Center, Bronx Terminal Market, and the forthcoming redevelopment of Willets Point. His Royal Presidency, meanwhile, is bigly. Ask anyone. Except the voters who don’t seem fond of either. Sad!
