Now I know

“Spanish Harlem” are not just pretty words

to say

I thought I knew

but now I know that rose trees never grow

in New York City

A rare extant wood-carved emblem representing the Parks Department. It could possibly date from the late 1940s.

As found at Marx Brothers Playground. East 97th Street, East Harlem.
