On November 5th, Queens New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, running on both the Working Families and Democratic Party lines, won our mayoral election. Twelve years ago, it was New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio who did the same. But some things never change. Or maybe newspaper history’s just bound to repeat itself. In the case of the New York Post, it’s still seeing Soviet-era Communists, Socialists (whatever!) masquerading as Democrats, while hammers and sickles fix a red Iron Curtain around the boundaries of the five boroughs. (I thought the Cold War ended in 1991!) Is this the Post‘s typical reaction to a Democrat assuming office, or the cover team’s brassy ideas finally petering out?
