This year, the New York Mets entered the 2025 season with the second highest payroll in baseball — a whopping $342 million! So, of course, they had a chance to win it all, right? Wrong! They finished with the 14th overall record in the majors and missed the playoffs. I guess you can’t blame old Skelly for finally losing hope.
